Edward B. Wight
1885 — 1952
scroll

Edward Brockway Wight (1885-1952) was William H. Boner’s assistant manager of the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company at Everett.

One of Wight’s jobs as assistant manager was log purchasing for Weyerhaeuser’s Everett mills. Log purchasing itself was an art. He had to predict when it was the best time to buy. It was difficult because the price of logs during his time was volatile.

In Search of Promotion.

When his father-in-law died in 1925, Wight put his name in for the post. He was one of three – Wight, Hunt and Martin – to run the Everett mills under close supervision, but Weyerhaeuser management promoted William H. Peabody to the sought-after position.

Wight resigned to become vice president of the competing Walton Lumber Company in Everett. The company was in business for about 50 years.
